Chat visibility and sharing
Control whether a conversation is only yours or shareable with others—when your deployment enables sharing.
Typical visibility levels
| Mode | Who can see it |
|---|---|
| Private | You (and platform administrators with database access, per your org’s policy). |
| Shared / link | People who receive the share link (or have access within a workspace), depending on configuration. |
Some deployments disable sharing entirely for policy reasons. If you never see a share option, assume chats are private-only.
Changing visibility
- Open the chat.
- Use the visibility control in the header or menu (labels vary: “Private”, “Share”, “Anyone with link”).
- Confirm if the UI asks you to acknowledge that shared content may leave your private scope.
Changes usually save immediately.
Before you share
- Data sensitivity — Shared links may bypass the recipient’s need for a full Data360 login, depending on setup. Do not share confidential analysis unless policy allows.
- Expiry — Ask whether links expire or can be revoked.
- Editing — Recipients may be read-only; clarify with your admin.
Receiving a shared chat
- Open the link in a browser where you can authenticate if required.
- You might see the thread read-only. Copy useful parts into your own new chat if you need to continue the analysis under your account.
