# Sign In to ArcGIS Online

Access the World Bank's ArcGIS Online (AGOL) organization using your WB credentials. This is your gateway to viewing, creating, and managing geospatial content.

## Before You Begin

Confirm you have:

- [ ] An active World Bank email address (`@worldbank.org`)
- [ ] Access to the World Bank network (on-site or VPN)
- [ ] A supported web browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge recommended)

## Sign In Steps

1. **Open your browser** and go to:

   `https://geowb.maps.arcgis.com`

2. **Click Sign In** in the top-right corner of the page.

3. **Select the World Bank option** when prompted for your organization or identity provider.

4. **Enter your World Bank credentials** — the same email and password you use for other WB systems.

5. **Complete multi-factor authentication (MFA)** if prompted.

6. **You're in.** The page will redirect to your AGOL home screen.

The sign-in process uses Single Sign-On (SSO). If you're already logged into other World Bank systems, you may be signed in automatically.

## First-Time Login

When you sign in for the first time:

| What Happens | Details |
|--------------|---------|
| **Profile created** | AGOL automatically creates your user profile based on your WB identity |
| **Viewer license assigned** | You receive a Viewer license by default |
| **Organization access** | You can browse content shared within the WB AGOL organization |

**What you can do with a Viewer license:**

- View maps, apps, and dashboards shared with you
- Search the organization's content catalog
- Access public Hub sites
- Download data (where permitted by the item owner)

**What you cannot do with a Viewer license:**

- Create new content (maps, layers, apps)
- Publish data to AGOL
- Create or manage a Hub site

## Verify Your Account

After signing in, confirm your account is set up correctly:

1. **Click your profile icon** in the top-right corner.

2. **Select "My Profile"** from the dropdown menu.

3. **Check your details:**
   - Your name appears correctly
   - Your email is your `@worldbank.org` address
   - Your organization shows as the World Bank

4. **Check your license type:**
   - Go to **Settings** (gear icon) from your profile menu
   - Look for "User Type" or "License" — it should show "Viewer" for new accounts

## Troubleshooting

| Problem | Solution |
|---------|----------|
| **Can't reach the sign-in page** | Connect to the WB VPN and try again |
| **SSO doesn't recognize my account** | Verify you're using your full `@worldbank.org` email |
| **MFA issues** | Use the same authentication method as other WB systems |
| **Page loads but sign-in fails** | Clear browser cache, or try a different browser |
| **"User not found" error** | Contact GeoLab at `geolab@worldbank.org` |

## Outcome

After completing these steps, you have:

- [ ] Verified your profile and license type
- [ ] Confirmed you can browse organization content
